I agree, Roderick's boots in particular seem very useful.

Or, there could be a minimum bid size, y'know.
And, for now, the way to withdraw your items is simply to outbid everyone, or to buy now it.

An undo button so I can get back the 400,000 chips that I lost last night in the casino. I guess you were right Ryme.

Ryme has explicitly expressed that he doesn't want familiar analogues, especially like those of KoL. As far as I know, this opinion is unchanged.

That has more disadvantages than advantages. 3 minutes? That's huge.

How about the silver surf board?
A transport item, gives:
Transport range of the sky
Dodging abilities
Unlocks new zone 'Space'
Guess it could do other cool things as well. As its from F4, it is superhero based already ;]

So, until your idea is finalized, you don't want any input or opinions?

You didn't say it wasn't. So, essentially, yes.

I'm not sure how underpowered Ryme wants computers to work, but the average day without any modifiers is 210 minutes, or 48.498/46.666/42 turns. With this program, the average day is 270 minutes. 55.9/54/49.1 turns. So about a 7 turn gain.

Do you think it's possible to change this around to not be like familiars? Just out of curiosity because Ryme has stated time to time (like I posted not too long ago) that he does not want KoL like familiars.

Idea for the Battle Armor skill that was never finished.
"You cover your gear using the same material that you use for your Electric Net. This'll give anyone who touches you a nasty surprise. Eventually, it'll be ripped off, but you should get a good 45 minutes out of it."
Effect: Some flavor of strike-back. Part of my likes the idea of the damage being based on level, but that might get abusive, unless there's a cap.
Then again, don't Spines and Fire Shield scale?

Yeah, but Shiloh isn't optimal. Clearly they'd be in the pit

So I was thinking about how an ascension-ish mechanic could be related to a superhero world and this is what I came up with:
How about when you get to a certain level or the end of the quests you could get the ability to train a sidekick to become your replacement when you retire. When you retire you could be able to teach them one skill you've learned and then they would take over and keep fighting crime using your name. Of course while you're away training your replacement all of the villains that you previously defeated return to the city and the cycle continues.
I got the idea from the comics where the Phantom would train his son to take his place and to everyone else it seemed that he just never died.

It'd be cool to have a level 25 skill you got when you first started training with the mystic. Not necessarily something really powerful, just convenient for a high-level player. And perhaps a level 50 skill once the level cap is raised.

It also wouldn't explain why the quests have all reset and the villains gone back to perpetrating their original plans.

You could explain that the villans are actually just one of their henchmen in the old villan's costume.
As for the quests, I don't know.

You should just add " 's apprentice" to the end of every single boss. That would work.

When you retire and return you could get a message from the mayor saying "Boy we're glad you're back. Things have gone to hell in a handbasket since you left. Wait ... didn't you used to be a/an (naturalist,psion,...)? Whatever, get out there and clean up those streets!"

BongBob wrote:For ascensions, a really easy (and cheap?) way out would be the DC comics way.
That's why I support the "retcon" idea. It's a comic standard, and would easily explain why everyone's back: it was a really big retcon.
