Lyrics: I Wanna Fall in Love with Her

Post by Ryme »

While I'm digging up old creative pieces, here's another one that I really dig. I should note that I have absolutely zero musical talent, but occasionally I'll end up writing what could be used as song lyrics. I like this one because there's something darkly humorous, and perhaps ironic, about a young man who isn't in love, but who wants to be badly enough that he's willing to choose as his object of affections someone who isn't really such a great pick:

There's a girl who lives down the street
She looks so nice and smells so sweet
She's just the type you'd like to meet
I don't care that she's not meek
Or if in school she was a geek.
If she's twisted I'm her freak.

I wanna fall in love with her.
There's no thing her heart can't cure.
I wanna fall in love with her.

I'll tell ya something that's no junk,
She's the cure when I'm in a funk,
Who cares if she's a mean ol' drunk?
So what if her temper does run thin?
And last night she kicked me in the shin?
She's gonna make me a man again.

I wanna fall in love with her.
Develop a bond that's nu-kyu-ler.
I wanna fall in love with her.

She can argue through the night
But I sidestep every fight
Always answer, "Of course you're right"
Though her claims are often shady,
she's not belligerent, she's a lady!
She's gonna be my one and maybe ...

I wanna fall in love with her.
There's no thing her fist can't cure.
I wanna fall in love with her.
Yeah ...
I just wanna fall in love with her!

that's "nuclear" but spelled to make it clear that it's being muspronounced, as it often is, as nu-cu-ler instead of the proper nu-cle-ar.
