Call for Heroes - Erfmortium Retirement Contest

Post by Kinak »

As you might now, Erfmortium is retiring from the game. What you may not know is that he had a ridiculous collection of old donation items... and would like them used to reward people who bring new folks to the game.

So, from now until we run out (which is going to be a while!), every month or so I'll be awarding a random item from the list. The more folks you bring in, the better the chance you get it!

How do I sign up?
You or the new player can message me (Kinak, #4) in-game saying that you brought them on board. Obviously, multi accounts don't count, just actual new players. I trust everyone to not give me trouble there.

The new player isn't left out either. I'll send them a little something to help get started, whether or not you win.

Which item is this month?
I'll be choosing it randomly when it's being rewarded, rather than in advance, so you don't have to hold out on telling your friends until a Hero's Cape is up.

What's all on the list?
I'm going to spoiler this so you don't have a whole screen of items to scroll past:
Spoiler: show
turkey feather wand
Plum Bum’s level
master’s yo-yo
Marty Crouch’s magic chest
frused pants
Floyd’s dark prism
Hero’s Cape
Hero’s Cape
Hero’s Cape
snow angel halo
Twilight Inventions 800
Virtual Lad’s goggles
virtual reality helmet

VHF-1 Exosuit
Roderick’s Boots
Roderick’s Gloves

Amazing Technicolor Dreampants
Aegis flux incapacitator
Recyclonizer

instant goats
haunted computer
Any duplicates in the list are intentional. I'll be crossing items off as they're rewarded.

Any questions?
Let me know below.

Cheers!

Will IotM sets be split up or are they considered one item? (Partial) sets in the list are:
  • Roderick's Gloves + Roderick’s Boots
  • Ring of Fellowship + King’s boomerang (no Zorromir's double tower shield)
  • foxy sombrero mask + foxy caped suit
  • Hobbes’ nail boots + Mummer’s gloves
Also, it looks like the holiday box of chocolates (Christmas 2013) managed to sneak onto that list... or was that intentional?

My plan was to do it item by item, because trying to balance them ends up with weirdness on the Ring of Fellowship items and yearly talismans.

If people have strong objections I can change it, but I think it'll just add a little spice.

Unintentional. Fixed now.

Only one? Subscriber’s Exclusive jacket, because singularity chip needs to happen. Also, +PP/turn.

Other things I would love, from most to least: letter shirt (-time); three-speed bicycle shorts (-time AND +PP) [for alts]; Recyclonizer, AT/RI digitizer, instant goats (workbench items)

[Edit] Oh, that reminds me of another question: are these prizes given to players or to characters? That is, is it considered multi-abuse to move these between accounts?

Good question! I'd consider them to be given to players.

We missed a haunted computer from the list here. Just, you know, in case there weren't already enough sweet prizes :)

Bit of a flash from the past, but this contest is still active and we have an entry for May of 2016!

If anyone else has new people they've brought into Twilight, let me know and I'll get you entered as well :)

Cheers!

It's hard enough to get people to click "Like" on a page on Facebook anymore... getting anyone to actually register/try something seems impossible now. :/ Everyone is too busy staring at apps on their phone.

Yeah, getting people to try something new has never really been easy. But that's why we're all here :)

I HATE cell phones, especially "smart" phones. All my friends that have them are zombies that just stare at the phone and fiddle with it, compared to when we were just out of high school it's like they've had an iLobotomy. Remove brain, insert phone. FYI, most smart phones have between 20-30% of their volume made up of spying tech, varying by make, model, and manufacturer (used to spy on you). A senior NSA bigwig once called iPhone users "dumb f***ers that pay for their own surveillance." I'll never buy a cell, especially not a smart phone.
