Time for my annual plug for National Novel Writing Month. It's a month where you do a really crazy personal writing project, and have a lot of fun, and tens of thousands of other people go through the same experience with you at the same time. I'd say more, but if you're into writing you should just check out the official site:

Re: National Novel Writing Month
As much as I hate to say it out loud and thus increase my accountability, I'll be working on a Twilight-themed story this month. Not set in the city, but a superhero story in the same world, more or less. Clavis Clepsydra and a new Frostheim are likely to make an appearance, I think.
Re: National Novel Writing Month
I started writing a novel at the beginning of July and finished it at the beginning of October. Now I am trying to slog through the first round of revisions, but it is taking forever!
Still, an incredibly rewarding experience all around, and if anyone reading this is on the fence about the idea of writing something, DO IT! It's worth it.

A whole year has come and gone. Time for another novel in just 14 days! I'm also reading last year's effort for the first time, and it's ... not nearly as bad as I thought it was. Still needs another 50k words added, and ~10k removed, but there's bright points. NaNoWriMo is one of the few times each year I actually get something done and have results to show for my efforts.

Thanks to a reminder from Ryme, I've gotten my novel started today. Anyone else doing this?
Re: National Novel Writing Month
Ah, I wish that I had time, but I'm already writing on a daily basis because of my blogs, as well as online roleplays. Besides, anything I write would almost certainly be fetish porn, and "Fifty Shades" has already cornered the market.

That's when you write more of it! The market is proven to be hot, so publishers are eating that junk up.Hardware wrote: Besides, anything I write would almost certainly be fetish porn, and "Fifty Shades" has already cornered the market.

How are you doing, Ryme? I keep forgetting to update my word count on the website, so it looks like I'm doing huge spurts every 5-7 days. Up to 23k works so far.
