Only if it isn't popular enough to maintain a clientele without advertising, which I think it is. There's enough brand recognition for the Cap'n to be on the shelves for a long time.

Popularity will surely drive its sales. On the other hand, if PepsiCo is going to keep to the vow stated in the article, they might retire it anyway.

Really there's only one way that PepsiCo will stop making it, and that's if it stops making money or starts costing them money in other areas. And since I'm pretty sure that Cereal is a stable market Crunch isn't in much danger.

Unless a Pirate shows up.

Actually no, not especially. But this is on her wiki page: "Zaladane also rode dinosaurs, pterodactyls, and diatrymas (giant flightless birds) trained to carry riders." Isn't that the coolest sentence ever?
