Staying Alive at Level 11
Okay, I am trying to do the Level 11 quest as a Naturalist, but it is a bit tricky because for every turn I spend in the building, I have to spend 2 turns grinding chips to afford healing. I have been doing it in the Casino (for the chips noncom, plus easy fights mean I don't lose many HP and I can easily get HP back from various regenerating sources) but how much better is the yield in the Cube? What else should I be doing? I have no skills other than the first 11 Naturalist ones, no sidekick, and very few items.

Well, I will rest if it's more efficient than chip-grinding and going to the ER, but I am not sure if it is, in general.Shikao wrote:The lack of healing ability is pain for naturalist. How did you distribute skill points? Did you think of resting?
I am pretty sure my skill points aren't very well distributed - I have 4 in Ant's Strength, 7 in Echolocation, 4 in Starfish Regeneration and 4 in Trample of the Rhino. And 2 extra, that I will probably put in Trample if it will help me against the Mick.

Trample certainly helps with the Mick.
Naturalist without any helping skills can be kind of tough, but if you can find a Scottish Necklace, that would help you survive, likewise the +HP ion stone.
Also, don't forget your sidekick. Summoning a wolf would help, and there's always the kid in Jax'Za. He's not an effective sidekick, but even infrequent blocking is better than no blocking.

I have been using the kid - I am sure a wolf would be better but I don't really have a source of PP. I suppose I can look harder for one though. And I will put my remaining skill points in Trample.

Honestly, I'm not sure which is better anyway: faster kills or less damage. Generally, I just go with the kid. If you can swing the PP (even if by resting), I would consider using Ant's Strength and Armadillo Armor.

Re: Staying Alive at Level 11
Well, clearly I should have been resting - the PP from the wigwam more than paid for using Trample against everyone, even the Mick went down in 4 rounds (2 successful hits and 2 misses with Rhino).
Thanks for the help, everyone!
