Talk about the game. What game? The game with the power? What power? The power of ... aw, skip it.

Who was responsible for...

Post by AldenteVonTino »

...The pop up definitions and descriptions within the game? I am guessing it was a joint venture, considering the volume of such content, but I could be wrong?

Such as (and I love this one!):

outraged political flyer

This is an outraged political flyer. The flyer isn't outraged though. Nor are the politics. It's actually the person who wrote the flyer who was outraged. Come to think of it, the flyer doesn't fly either, unless you make a paper airplane out of it. But "completely immobile piece of paper written on a political topic by someone who was outraged" doesn't really roll off the tongue.

Most all descriptions are written by Ryme, the game's creator. Very rarely he'll take player input, and sometimes other people will write decent amounts of content tied to quests and sidequests and such for him. But usually it's Ryme.

I personally wish to take a moment and say so far all I have seen and read and played is AWESOME beyond words this writer could come up with, and I honestly wish I knew a lot more about computers and coding and such, because I would place a pic right below this gratitude comment of a

LARGE BLUE RIBBON!

Seriously, I mean I haven't found one page I didn't like reading so far, and to MY eyes everything seems in order, if a newbie even KNOWS what order is for this game!
I can't wait to get to level 10! (4 more to go!)

Well... thanks to the recipe contest, soemof us had access to exploit our creativeness and implement some ideas on the game -well... not uss.. Ryme did... specially the exploiting part...-
I was semi-responsible for an item called Quijote's spear, Cristiona was almost fully responsible for the lvl 11 and 29 quests, and some other players did some other stuff - I can't remember them all-

but.. you should check out the wiki

However, it's preferred that you don't do it to excess, and that if you are going to link, you use a service like TinyPic, Imageshack, or Photobucket for image hosting, so as to avoid stealing bandwidth from other sites. And to avoid them replacing the image you expected with something gross or offensive as punishment.

In regards to the actual topic of this thread, can anyone tell me who was responsible for the pictures I've been seeing? (Haven't gone TOO far from the first steps into the game, so a LOT of pics are yet to be seen. Still, I'm curious.)

Which pictures? In game? That's me. Or me, my trusty camera, some photoshop filters, and occasionally google image search when I think parody warrants it. Which tends to be quite a bit, honestly, but there's a lot of parody in this game. Corrupt Shadow gets the nod for several handfuls of pictures, too.

The credits page in the game manual spells all this out in pretty good detail.

Yet one more piece of good work that had me laughing hard, busting a rib:

The trainer bursts into laughter as out of nowhere you trip over a leaning mop, step into a bucket of water, try to catch yourself on a door handle but lose your balance when the door swings wide open, and then collapse onto a giant pyramid of neatly stacked tennis ball containers, sending them scattering everywhere. "You really do know how to take a prat fall," she says. "Here, this is for you."

You get a merit badge: National Lampoons Merit Badge

I can't wait to see what's next!

Re: Who was responsible for...

Yet Another Thrilling Adventure
You decide to go find another window. Preferably one without any smart-talking scientists on the other side. You wind your way far around the castle, up the side of the mountain and back down, until another accessible window catches your eye. Or more properly, the silvery glow coming from the window catches your eye. Inside is a small room, with a single bottle of shimmering, lustrous liquid, perched atop a single pedestal. There are a few traps, of course, but for a hero of your caliber it's almost not worth talking about the foul beast guarding the room, nor the acidic bath containing the vial, or the surprise portcullis. Needless to say, when it's all over you've got your hands on the goods.

THAT was a well thought out piece. Well done.

Also me, thanks. I was all set to write about three pages to describe how you got the vial, and then decided brevity would serve me better.
