September IotM - exotic throwing stars set

Post by Ryme »

The packaging on this one may not immediately be clear, so I wanted to make sure everyone understood before donating.

The IotM is a box that contains five throwing stars, which you get when you use the box. Each throwing star can be used once per turn (once per combat). If you've got more than one star, you can use that star more than once (two uses for two, say). Stars disappear from inventory while in combat, but they aren't consumed -- you get them back when combat ends.

(Leaves the store Sept 31.)
Some sort of freaky leap year? :)

EDIT: And yes, I was expecting a little more ninja.

Each star does damage + one of two effects.

Each star has one common effect that fires most of the time (or has a chance of firing most of the time), and one that's much less common but more powerful.

Just to clarify and see if I got it right. Each of the stars has two possible outcomes, one which is more common and one which is less (is it safe to assume that the chance of the less common is the same for all stars?).

On top of that, some, but not all, of those outcomes have bonus events.

For example a red dwarf has two outcomes and no bonuses.

A blue giant has two outcomes, and one of those outcomes has a possibility of a bonus stun.

A magnetar has a different bonus effect for each of the outcomes.

We're going to get deep into terminology here if we're not careful. I would say this isn't right. Using your terminology, I would say every outcome has a bonus event. Some bonus events are guaranteed, some merely have a chance of occurring.

I bought two of them, one to open and one to keep. They're all in my MD now.
