Probably shouldn't rely on JS to make a page not look badd, and PHP is moot here. Unless you want to have an account option for which version of login to use. You'd just have to log in before you log in!
In other news, I think it's possible to use a random selection of images for those bars and still scale right. If not with divs, then with GD.

Agreed. Consistency would be nice, but it is an extremely low priority, obviously.
