No matter how long winter lasts, I'll always love it. Even now, I want my snow back...

Spring/Fall only lasts about 4 weeks in Louisiana... then it's summer/winter.
So, I'm just kind of "meh" about it.

Autumn rules, Spring drools.
No, seriously. Spring is like the time of diseases. And since it's always nice out and crap, doesn't it give you images of like...zombies out in daylight?
Or something.
Autumn has nice temperatures. For me, at least. And it goes into Winter break!

I personally prefer fall because of pretty pretty leaves and it's about the only time of year I feel like when I take a big breath of air that it's actually "fresh". Also, fall/winter is when Philadelphia stops smelling like garbage...

I love spring, but it snowed on me today and it's 50 mph winds, too. It feels nothing like spring.

Yeah, we suddenly got hit a by a bunch of snow all of a sudden... Which happens a lot less in Illinois. And now it's all melted in 2 days.

All yous north'ners and your snow! Down in the south we ain't got any layers or somesuch. Not even rain!
(That is, for San Diego. )
(Yes, I realize that was not COMPLETELY Southern either. I apologize for anyone who is offended.)
(Or am I?)

Re: Huzzah, Spring is Coming.
That wasn't even remotely southern. You phail at Southern imitation. I would actually consider that a good thing, though.

I used "ain't". What's NOT Southern about that? But yes, thank god I'm not actually Southern. No offense, yet again. It's that stereotypical image of a Southerner that irks me...No hate on Louisiana though, CS.
Re: Huzzah, Spring is Coming.
Contrary to the stereotype, tons of people in both the north and south say ain't, lol. Even I say it, occasionally, in slang >.>MagiNinjA wrote:I used "ain't". What's NOT Southern about that? Spring and Autumn last 5 minutes each in Israel. Usually it's on a Wednesday, around noon.

"Ain't" is also used all over Britain and was in use for a long time before anyone decided it was bad. That was Victorian uptightness. My browser spellchecker also thinks "uptightness" is bad. Must be Mozilla uptightness.
Spring is my favourite season because everything is bursting into life after looking barren or dead for ages. Autumn is my next-favourite because it's pretty, and the horrible heat is finally gone.

Yeah, according to stereotypes, I'm a buck-toothed cajun who lives in a houseboat on the swamp and has an aligator for a pet.MagiNinjA wrote:I used "ain't". What's NOT Southern about that? Re: Huzzah, Spring is Coming.
LMAO
Actually, Baton Rouge (where I live for all you stalkers) is booming. We don't see any evidence of an economic downfall right now. It's weird. No houseboat duplexes or anything... new apartment complexes, banks, commercial companies, etc.
Go figure.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go feed my pet nutria-rat...

Re: Huzzah, Spring is Coming.
all yous = mafia or jersey
y'all = "you" in the south
all y'all = plural "you" in the south
And I'm in the frigging southwest. I'm 20 minutes from New Mexico. Yes, this is still north of San Diego (what isn't, in the states?) but it's hardly North Dakota.
Well ... except for the part where I'm a mile and a half higher up in the sky than SD.

Re: Huzzah, Spring is Coming.
"y'all" is Southern equivalent of the Northern "you guys".
When I hear someone say "you guys", I expect the sentence to end with "don't'cha know?".

"All yous" is totally Jersey, eh? I was always made fun of for being way too Pennsylvania Dutchy when I said things like "yous".

Err, In my mind, I've had it up where Wyoming is.

Re: Huzzah, Spring is Coming.
Colorado is a big state. Part of it touches Wyoming and Nebraska, which are waaay up there. Part of it touches Arizona, which is waaay down there. I'm in the corner that touches Arizona, so it's definitely Southwest.
Re: Huzzah, Spring is Coming.
Well, yes, I realized this after looking at a map. What I meant was that if I had a blank map (no state outlines), and you told me to point to Colorado, I would have pointed to Wyoming. Possibly.

Amusingly, "yous guys" is decidedly Chicago. And "mostacolli" is "muskachollis".

As long as it's not the US geography of course. That's of interest to only a very small part of the world population.Ryme wrote:Hate to tell ya, but you would have pointed wrong.Olaf wrote:Well, yes, I realized this after looking at a map. Where is Disneyworld? Where is Rock and Roll hall of Fame? Where is Vegas? Where is Hollywood?
That's interesting to everyone.
Where did Ryme grow up as a child? Which states has Ryme lived in? Where did Ryme go to college? Where did Ryme break down and have a spring vacation completely ruined? How do I find Ryme's back yard to stalk him from there?
Again, interesting to everyone.

Hee hee! I had to run the air conditioning yesterday afternoon in my car.
On the other hand, I've got a nearly identical picture taken in Colorado, dated May 1.

San Diego likes to get firestorms. It's really annoying when it happens.
