Creative player ideas for in-game items, zones, etc.

Re: Creative player ideas for in-game items, zones, etc.
Every opponent in that zone has a specific resistance, except for two. The GGG (anb the Rock'em Bot) were supposed to approximate physical resistance in various ways. The GGG by having more HP than other foes, the Rock'em Bot by having greatly increased defense (which TNT users probably never even notice).
Now that I have real physical resistance, I'm changing the GGG over to half physical resist, and dropping the HP back to normal.
The Rock'em bot is going to stay resistanceless but have offense and defense increased over the baseline for the zone.
Hope that fits into a reasonable sense of balance.

The VHF exosuit might be like that.. but since it is a donation item I definitely support this one!Blink wrote:lol Jimmy Hendrix reference...
I made a whole post on something like that, but it got ignored. -sad face-
A new suggestion of mine: How about a vehicle that takes up ALL the slots except Talisman?
What I have in mind could be a giant piloted Robot, like a Gundam or something. And besides your normal attacks with it, it does a special random damage message thats different from the main one.

Re: Creative player ideas for in-game items, zones, etc.
I have been playing for a short while, so maybe I haven't gotten far enough, but I've noticed a severe lack of gamma/cosmic/UV radiation. This is a major plot point for many comic book heroes, so I thought that a 'Radioactive' class would be a pretty cool thing. There could be a shield involving deadly radiation preventing the opponent from getting too close, and causes damage anyways. Or some of the classic superpowers like heat-vision/laser-beam eyes, or Radioactive Blood: 'Your gamma radiation-charged blood flows through your veins, causing a chemical reaction that causes you to bulk up to incredible size' or something like that.
I also came up with a glove and a in-combat/out-of-combat item. The glove:
Left-hand Glove of Infinite Power
Description: This is the Left-hand Glove of Infinite Power! If you wear this with the Right-hand Glove of Infinite Power, you will be unstoppable! ...You don't have the Right-hand Glove of Infinite Power? ....Pity... you are going to look strange with only one glove.
Stats: +strength, some effect based on having only one glove....
The item:
The Discordion
Description: If you thought that accordion music was annoying before, wait until you hear the chaotic, mentally destructive Discordion, known to warp space and time.
Effects: (Note: Any use of the Discordion breaks it.) In battle, may cause sonic damage and confuse the enemy. Out of battle: random effects, may cause forced adventures, mostly non-combat, but some beings from the realm of chaos might attack you. Especially Strange Al, who wants his Discordion back, and is mad at you for breaking it.

Re: Creative player ideas for in-game items, zones, etc.
I submitted the idea of the item called the Discordion, but I failed at making a good idea. Then I thought, maybe it could send you to an alternate dimension of chaos? Then I came up with the noncombat quest involving the chaotic dimension, where there would be a bunch of branching choice adventures. I thought, maybe in that dimension, there would be dead-end choices (they would be hinted at), and you'd have an object of reset world or something. Eventually, you could get to one of the many endings, each giving a different object but completing the quest and preventing further access (so as not to try to take a new branch for end items.)
Long story short: I was thinking that a noncombat quest similar to the 'choose your own path'-style books would be pretty cool.

New Weapon Idea:
Stung
Plural: Stungs
Supposedly handed down generation after generation from Bagbo Bilbins, this blade hums a Cb-minor chord when you near an enemy. You know when you're coming up on enemies--which can be handy. Unfortunately, your enemy can hear your humming sword a mile away.
Melee weapon (Slashing, small)
Power: 90
Level Required: 8
Item can traded or sold
Item can be auto-sold
+10 intellect
-10 initiative

Just thought I'd clarify that--yes--I know that Cb is in fact B-natural. That was the point. I could have gone with Fb, B#, or E#.Corrupt Shadow wrote:...this blade hums a Cb-minor chord...

I'd rather name them "State Related Jims"Blink wrote:How about new robot people in the military area named "Government Issued Joes"?

Or have a coffee drop item in the military base called a "G.I. Joe"Carygon Nijax wrote: I'd rather name them "State Related Jims"
Or an enemy called "G.I. Josie and the Pussycats" (or, if you want to get ridiculous, "G.I. Josie and the Thundercats").
Some other random ideas while I'm here:
cricket bat
baseball bat + thorax targe (melee weapon (bashing, small))
(Or combine some other insect item, for wordplay on 'cricket'.)
+sonic resistance (because "all you hear is the chirping of crickets." )
+effectiveness of reputation choices ("let your conscience be your guide")
I don't know if this counts, but:
Sophocle's biphocles
weld Sophocle's monocle + Sophocle's monocle
allows soul gazing, (but half as often)
+ item drop (but half as often)
And one idea that may work as an April Fool's day item:
"77 Habits of Highly Effective Sidekicks"
When used: Your understudy sidekick gains a new skill:
Effective Sidekick: +200% sidekick effectiveness
Okay, I'll be quiet now.

Looking back on this--since I was making it up as I went--it might be better to call it "Sing" instead of "Stung"... or is that too obvious?Corrupt Shadow wrote:New Weapon Idea:

Perhaps "Strum"? And I'd give it +initiative and +combats, personally.Corrupt Shadow wrote:Looking back on this--since I was making it up as I went--it might be better to call it "Sing" instead of "Stung"... or is that too obvious?
