Re: Chip farming

Most dedicated farmers either use the Cube or the Castle.
I was pretty certain +chips% from sidekicks works on noncombats, but now my tests come inconclusive, with a strong inclination towards them not working. I guess Ryme can clarify on that.Satan wrote:Unless +chips from sidekicks can now affect the casino jackpots...
There is no question about that. The question is specifically about +chips from sidekicks.Doc Igor wrote:+chips WAS working in the casino noncombat before... (actually, it was generating 1-2k drops at first)
According to Ryme, +chips (and +xp) are both supposed to affect noncombats.
As someone who recently was farming in the casino with those two things as maxed out as I could make it (non combat was maxed, got everything else as +chips but I lack any donation gear) I will say the castle is better. I was making around 27k after selling stuff. I havent been recording in the castle, but I dont have all items at either +chips/+items (some are pp regen for auras) and my autosell alone has been averaging around 22k, not counting chips I gain from combat which is around 450-500 a fight. So for high level (74) characters without donation items chip farming for SS, I would recommend the castle and focus on +items, -time, and make sure to get the philtre every chance you get.Doc Igor wrote:Actually, the casino is actually pretty good... assuming you can maximize both +chips and +noncombat (which is doable) it's appeared to have a better noncombat rate than the castle...
But if the end goal is the most number of chips at the end of the day (which is what chip farming is almost all about) then autosell should be considered. If you are chip farming to purchase something, then at the end of the day all you care about is how many chips you gain, whatever means are necessary. The buyer doesnt care if the chips came from autosell or from the opponents directly. I dont see why autosell shouldnt be considered in chip farming, and would be interested in hear a "purist" argument along those lines.Vkkhamul wrote:I'm trying to gather up more chips to buy a new equipment from the Creepy Old House.
That's your angle at the problem.Doc Igor wrote:Simple... autosell values = items to turn into TNT, so I don't consider it a source for chips.
Ah yes, that works for you. It works for people who buy most items of the month. It does not work for people who are either new to the game (joined after january 2009), or dont want to donate. Its always bugged me in this game and other online games when long-time players assume everyone else has been playing as long as them/can afford the super expensive items they have...Doc Igor wrote:Simple... autosell values = items to turn into TNT, so I don't consider it a source for chips.
I agree long time players sometimes do that, and it can be annoying. I'm not sure it is relevant in this case though, since even if you don't have a recyclonizer, I'm sure you can find a good soul in chat to do your recyclonizing for you. At least I'd be happy whenever I'm online.blackmatter615 wrote:Ah yes, that works for you. It works for people who buy most items of the month. Two possibilities here: either all the games are secretly just one game, or the castle is where the treasure is.Muhandes wrote: (apparently, due to some unknown rule of nature, the castle is ALWAYS the best farming place, no matter what game you play)
