Re: New Year's Podcast Thread - With Podcast

Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, Kinak. I now wonder if were-code helps or hinders development. Maybe it's a break-even. :D

Re: New Year's Podcast Thread

Any chance of getting a native, player-customizable outfit system? I'd love to be able to change all my gear in a click or two, during retcons with pulls as well as my post-retcon farming.

Re: once per lifetime purchase of nocturne items

If someone purchased and used the avatar already and didn't want a second, how would checking inventory for the existence of one help? It's already been used. It might prevent the purchase of a third, I suppose. Therein would lie the hassle. You'd need to check for the character having the avatar (...

Re: once per lifetime purchase of nocturne items

Verification on purchase instead? At least part of the drawbacks being you'd either need a pointless check the first time anyone buys the sidekick skill or avatar, or you'd need to code in checks for having the skill/avatar already, which might be a hassle. Alternately, maybe the sellback idea from ...

Re: Competitive Leaderboard Structure?

By providing four brackets I've tried to present some flexibility for players who prefer different play styles, but going beyond the system to cater to *every* play style just isn't going to make a lot of sense, except via the KoLDB-style "roll your own" leaderboard, to match the "ro...

Re: Fastest Retcon Time

However, my feeling is that it's more of a point system problem (all-item runs are not penalized heavily enough) than anything else. I agree that there are some problems with the point values in the system. I feel like caffeine (and maybe sugar) restrictions aren't valued highly enough, and that pu...

Re: Retcon: WOOT!

I was very amused to discover that my sidekick, Sparky the Boy Hostage, has a much more appropriate name now. Thanks for retcon (and the rest of the game, for that matter) Ryme!

(Leaves the store Sept 31.)
Some sort of freaky leap year? :)

EDIT: And yes, I was expecting a little more ninja.

Sure, I'll take a shot...

I started at 7pm with a bedtime of 4pm. 2 levels, 4 fancy lattes, and 200-something (300?) turns laters, and I've pulled a 24-hour crime fighting bender. That's what I get for not playing for about a month, I guess.

First of all, am I just really missing something about the underwater quest where you don't need rentals? because as of right now, i'm not seeing how rentals are optional if you want to finish quests, and several people have mentioned just ignoring rentals. I guess maybe the stuff drops in a zone i...

Early funding seems to be pretty tight to me. Two major things have cleared up the money situation for me. Level 4, where as a gadgeteer I learned a self-healing skill, and level 5, where I was able to handle the casino without it being a drain on my resources (PP, chips). First Aid, combined with t...
